Library

Our library is an interactive learning space for students, teachers and parents.

Every fortnight, each class will a have a lesson with Miss Harker in the library. In this time, students have the opportunity to borrow, read quietly and participate in lessons relating to Key Learning Areas.

In their lesson time, the children will also learn how a library operates and develop research skills to find and use information in a variety of formats. The library is a research hub and technology is a large component of teaching in the library. Our library has an interactive whiteboard, a bank of computers for research and publishing activities, laptops, tablets and Wi-Fi access.

We also continue to add to our extensive collection of books for student borrowing and spend a generous budget on new resources each year. We participate in the Book Fair, Book Week, Education Week, NAIDOC, Premier's Reading Challenge and the school home reading program. We encourage all students to keep their home reading journal up to date and provide a book prize for each student who completes 50, 100, 150 and 200 nights of reading.

So don't be a stranger and remember; READING IS THE KEY TO ALL LEARNING.
